Cultural Commons · Bikaner

A space for the city.

By the people.

An open cultural commons in the heart of Bikaner — where artists make, communities gather, and anyone who needs a quiet corner can simply come and be.

The Idea

Not a venue. A living space.

Textured Paper Background

Centre for Life began with a simple question: what would it look like if a city had a place that truly belonged to its people? Not a museum behind glass, not a ticketed auditorium — but an open, breathing cultural commons where a folk musician, a schoolchild, a visiting photographer, and a neighbourhood reader could all find something that speaks to them.

Set in Bikaner, the city that holds Malang Folk Foundation's roots, the Centre is built around a beautiful red sandstone open amphitheatre, a gallery, a garden courtyard, and a set of working spaces.

We don't own this space. We offer it — to the city, to its artists, to its wanderers, and to whoever arrives with something to make, share, or simply witness.

Think art studio + village courtyard + cultural adda.

We have participated in exhibitions in Bikaner earlier also, but have never seen such management and arrangements before. Earlier we were skeptical about sales, but our sales were better than what we do in Jaipur or Delhi.
